Jeff Williams is a senior trial lawyer. His practice is concentrated on the representation of insurance companies and financial institutions in litigation matters in federal and state courts, including a six-week trial in Tennessee in which the Jorden Burt team received more than $70 million in damages for its financial institution client. Most recently, he defended a major life insurance company in a case in which the plaintiff claimed that the insurer and its agent made misrepresentations in connection with the sale of a $12.0 million life insurance policy. The plaintiff also argued "suitability," asserting that the policy was an unsuitable investment, and that the defendants failed to comply with applicable life insurance replacement regulations. Following a week-long trial in Boston, Massachusetts, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendants on all counts.

Jeff also has experience in professional liability litigation involving lawyers, accountants, and directors and officers, and has represented insurance companies and financial institutions in bankruptcy litigation matters throughout the United States. He is currently the chair of the firm's Property & Casualty industry group.
