SUMMER ASSOCIATES
JORDEN BURT LLP hires a limited number of Summer Associates through a national recruiting program completed in the Fall of the previous year. The recruiting process for summer positions at JORDEN BURT is highly competitive, as the Firm has only a small number of openings and a large number of applicants with excellent academic credentials. Law students who are interested in summer positions at JORDEN BURT should apply in August or early September of the preceding year. Those students who are unable to schedule an on-campus interview may independently submit their applications directly to one of the recruiting partners.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Summer Associates are exposed directly to client projects and become part of a team, working alongside full-time associates and partners. Because JORDEN BURT organizes itself and delivers legal services as a single "firm," project teams will often involve attorneys in more than one of the Firm's three locations: Washington, D.C., Miami, FL and Simsbury, CT. Summer Associates are exposed to "real life" assignments comparable to those being assigned to full-time lawyers.
Summer Associates are not assigned to particular Practice Teams, but are allowed generally to express a primary interest in litigation or business, and are allowed to request assignments in all areas according to their interests. Summer Associates are generally included in all professional activities applicable to full-time associates, including practice team meetings and firm-wide training seminars. The Firm's three offices are connected via teleconference for seminars, lunch meetings, and other events.
Each Summer Associate is paired with one full-time associate who acts as a mentor to provide guidance throughout the summer. Partners and other associates offer on-going advice, and the Firm practices an open door policy when questions arise during individual assignments.

PERMANENT POSITIONS
