In Mayflower National Life Insurance Company v. Thomas (June 25, 2004), plaintiffs sued Bill Heard Chevrolet Company, Mayflower and others in connection with the purchase of a 1985 Cadillac and related insurance products. On the first go-around the trial court conducted only an abbreviated hearing on class certification, at which the only issue discussed was numerosity, before granting class certification.
